Metsker Atlases
Metsker Atlases, Oregon     (Currently, 16 counties)
The Metsker Atlases and Maps, for Oregon counties, are a welcome addition to our maps section. These atlases were created by Charles Metsker and are difficult to find all in one location. Metsker Maps,/Janssen, Inc., have given us permission to publish their atlases and maps and we want to thank them for their generosity. You can visit their web site at: www.metskermaps.com.
The atlases and maps are arranged in two formats. The first option is location by Township and Range. If you have a T/R from an early BLM map or any other source you can go directly to the atlases on our site using that T/R number. The second search is by Donation Land Claim surnames. If you are looking for a particular surname you can type that in and that map will come up. This surname search is only setup for DLC names.
The maps list an enormous amount of landowners names in addition to the DLC names because most of these atlases were created starting in the late 1920's. We may eventually index them all, however, at this time they are only indexed by DLC surnames.
These are the maps currently in our collection.
        Benton County 1929 & 1938            Clackamas County 1928 & 1937
Clatsop County 1930                        Columbia County 1928
Coos County 1929                            Crook County 1938
Curry County 1932                           Deschutes County 1935
Josephine County 1932                     Lincoln County 1930
Marion County 1929                         Multnomah County 1927
Polk County 1929                             Tillamook County 1930
Washington County 1928                  Yamhill County 1928.
We recommend that if you want to search the atlases for your family name or who may have owned their land in the early to mid 1900's, or you do not know what area they were living in, then search by T/R and that will give you access to each map and all of the names on them.
We hope that you enjoy the atlases, they are great for research or just the map enthusiast.
